How to Clear NYC Property Violations

NYC property violations can be a real pain for builders and lawyers. But there are ways to clear them. Let’s take a look at how to clear NYC property violations.

What are NYC Property Violations?

NYC property violations are issued when a building or property does not comply with the New York City Building Code. These violations can be issued for various reasons, including failure to obtain a permit, perform required inspections, or correct hazardous conditions.

How to Clear NYC Property Violations?

There are two ways to clear NYC property violations:
1) by correcting the violation or

2) by appealing the violation.

If you choose to correct the violation, you must first bring the building or property into compliance with the New York City Building Code. Once you have done so, you must submit a certification of correction to the Department of Buildings. The Department of Buildings will inspect the building or property to confirm that the violation has been corrected. If the Department of Buildings confirms that the violation has been corrected, they will issue a clearance certificate.

If you choose to appeal the violation, you must first file a notice of appeal with the Board of Standards and Appeals. The Board of Standards and Appeals will then hold a hearing to determine whether or not the violation should be overturned. If the Board of Standards and Appeals overturns the violation, they will issue a clearance certificate.
